Top 10 Anime Games, 2005 (Part 2)

CHEATER!!! Well, that's kinda harsh, I take it back. So below is the Top 5 anime games this year as seen on the Anime Gaming Guide on 12/28.

1) Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi - It's the best DBZ game ever, period, hands down, best looking too.
2) Ultimate Spider-Man - Sweet cell shading and a winning formula give you a great mix set in the Ultimate universe.

3) Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness - Still trying to catch them all, this is taking a while.

4) X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - Muties, muties everywhere.

5) One Piece Grand Battle - Power Stone with Luffy and gang.

  2. YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my EXACT reaction in finding out that you put One Piece. In any of these (is watching a subtitled One Piece DVD as I type...for approximately the eighth time today). I would easily consider this to be the GREATEST flipping game I have ever had the honor of playing, everything is PERFECT....except when David Moo, as Sanji, tries to say "Mademoiselle" in that...voice...of his...(shudders violently) BUT ANYWHO. Had to comment on that. That other guy that commented needs to chill. ALSO. Yes, the IY game was a little stupid...The first, 2D one was totally awesome snausages, despite the crappy effects and whatever. The second one sucked eggs, and the third one...was okay. Again, alittle stupid...I couldn't tell which one you spoke of. Mmkies! I really have to stop babbling, now, sheesh! Lookit all that typing! Woo! Okay! Sorry!

A kerfillion of Sanji's little pink hearts,
    Tori

  3. dude you are so right ^. When i read that I was like. "They could pay me to do that and I would have a better chance on getting it right" Spiderman? X-men? YOu have to be stupid to think they were anime.

  4. When I saw the title (Top 10 Anime Games) I was looking forward to seeing what you had listed.  However, I have learned from my son and all his friends PLUS being a dedicated "anime viewer", there are certain things that constitute an anime.  Spiderman and X-Men are 2 of your "entries" that in no way add up to animes.  And you even have them at #2 and #4!!!  Come on, give us a break.  You're just joking, right?  NOW you're going to post the REAL list, aren't you?  The one that lists the top 10 ANIME games......

  5. Y'know I REALLY like ONE PIECE: GRAND BATTLE. It's a fun POWER STONE/SMASH BROS.  type of game. But I wouldn't rank it higher than ZATCH BELL!: MOMODO BATTLES. Zatch has a bit more technique. One Piece is a bit of a button masher. Wait for NARUTO (developed by Zatch Bell/Bloody Roar EIGHTING)on GameCube later in 2006!

I have to agree with the others on this one. Although SPIDERMAN and X-MEN are well respected comic properties they aren't "anime". Why didn't you put ASTRO BOY: OMEGA FACTOR (the GBA game NOT the PS2 game) on the list? Wasn't that from 2005? And it was an AWESOME game made by TREASURE (GUNSTAR HEROES on the Genesis). And maybe GUILTY GEAR should have been on the list too. I think there was a 2005 release for that one too and it was a decent game (although I think it broke the 2D fighting system and allowed the characters to go into the backgroung DOUBLE DRAGON style). And I'm pretty sure the was a Guilty Gear anime.

Here's my vote for WORST anime game:  YU YU HAKUSHO GHOST FILES DARK TOURNAMENT. Awful! It's way too hard to pull off those power moves! You'd have to be some hardcore masochist to memorize all those combinations!
